Update from Diana Hagee

Update from Diana Hagee
(2/2/2009)

To My Dear Family and Friends,

Three months ago our family asked for your prayers on behalf of my husband because of the open-heart surgery he was suddenly scheduled to undergo on October 2.

Your overwhelming response comforted our family and brought my husband supernatural peace and confidence that the Lord Jesus Christ would completely heal his body.

Pastor Hagee has recovered superbly well; above what the doctor’s anticipated and we are planning many, many more wonderful years of life and ministry together. We give thanks to the Almighty for His healing touch.

Who could have known that within 90 days our family would be physically attacked once again with my diagnosis of breast cancer.

Through the counsel of family and outstanding, Godly physicians Pastor Hagee and I decided that I would have a double mastectomy with immediate reconstruction.  It is an invasive surgery yet I had an insidious enemy that had no place in my body and I wanted it out!

My husband and children immediately took a stand with me for my healing. They were unshakable. My husband prayed the prayer of healing; I had the elder’s anoint me with oil and pray the prayer of faith. Our son Matthew began preaching on healing reminding me and our congregation of the importance of standing on God’s supernatural Word.

Once again we asked for your prayers and once again you prevailed. Our precious family at Cornerstone Church immediately engulfed me in prayer.  I received cards, letters, emails and phone calls from around the world. People I have never met committed to fasting and prayer.

Written supplications were left on my behalf at the Prayer Wall in Jerusalem and our friends within the Jewish community in America, Israel and abroad included my name in Sabbath services as well as daily prayers. I was indeed blessed with God’s unmerited favor.

I had no alternative but to choose life and to stand on God’s unfailing Word for my healing; there would be no compromise. The spiritual warfare was intense. The enemy was relentless in his attempt to weaken my faith. There were days that I did nothing but call on the Name of Jesus knowing that the demons of hell would have to flee at the mere mention of His Name. Oh how I depended on His Name and His Word to see me through the valley.

I learned that even though I was battling doubt and fear it did not mean I possessed them; it merely meant that Satan was using these lies as tools of warfare.  What I did possess was a weapon greater than any weapon; the infallible Word of the Living God!

I compiled healing scriptures that brought me great personal comfort; declaring them was like a daily reminder of God’s faithful promises to me.  It was as if I was taking doses of supernatural medicine. I played the healing scriptures in our home twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week; it was indeed encouraging to hear my husband’s voice constantly declaring God’s healing power.  As the Lord prescribed, I surrounded myself with good things, good thoughts and good people and day by day disciplined myself to ignore the voice of the adversary.

The surgery date was set for January 7 and I was determined to have a wonderful Christmas with our five children, their spouses and our eight grandchildren.  God was faithful and blessed us with a beautiful time together as we celebrated The Almighty’s goodness and faithfulness to our family.

I was deeply comforted in seeing my husband enjoy our family during the holidays; witnessing his good health was a strong faith builder for me. I took hold of the promises that God would work yet another miracle within our family.

As the day of surgery approached I found myself waking up in the middle of the night reciting the Lord’s Prayer or the 23rd Psalm.  I was constantly in the trenches but I was never alone; the Lord and your prayers surrounded me.

I was encircled by family and friends the day before surgery and they stayed through the long procedure the following day to support my husband, children and parents. A prayer vigil was held on my behalf.  I was in God’s hands.

The final pathology report arrived to our home yesterday afternoon and I want to share its contents with you because it encompasses my testimony.

I possess a total of three reports; the first is the initial biopsy taken November 24, 2008 and it reads,

•      “Guided Core Biopsy; Invasive Ductal Carcinoma and Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS) present.”

The second document I have is the final pathology finalized January 12, 2009, it reads;

•      Nine lymph nodes including Sentinel Node; “negative for malignancy”.
•      Right breast previous biopsy site; “no evidence of residual malignancy”.
•      Left breast; “no evidence of malignancy”.
•      Patient shows history of biopsy with “no evidence of residual malignancy therefore no staging indicated”.

The final, most valuable and most important document I have in my possession is God’s infallible Word.  It belongs to all of us.  Among the many, many scriptures I relied on, there is one that best describes my journey;

Fear not, for I am with you;
      Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
      Yes, I will help you,
      I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
“ Behold, all those who were incensed against you
      Shall be ashamed and disgraced;
      They shall be as nothing,
      And those who strive with you shall perish.
        You shall seek them and not find them—
      Those who contended with you.
      Those who war against you
      Shall be as nothing,
      As a nonexistent thing.

     Isaiah 41:1012 (NKJV)
.

I give thanks to the Lord for His mighty works and supernatural healing.  I am grateful to Him beyond measure for He has given me my life back. I take nothing for granted. He is my fortress and my high tower; in whom I trust.  There is none like Him. The Lord has kept me as the apple of His eye.
The enemy entered to destroy me and God exposed it in its earliest form. He chose the team of doctor’s that would allow Him to guide them through my journey and they too rejoice with me at His miraculous works.
The Lord God of Israel was faithful to direct my path. Any medicine I took or procedure I had brought me good and no harm for it is only the Almighty that brings healing. I will bless the Lord at all times and His praise shall always be in my mouth during my journey on earth and while in eternity.
I thank you for standing with me and my family during our time of trouble. Your faithful prayers brought us much comfort and support. I thank you for rejoicing with us in our miraculous victories for “many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers us from them all!”

With much love and gratitude,
Diana Hagee
